Emily + Matt’s Artifact Events wedding was filled with laughter, tears and a surprise piano performance.
“When Emily wanted to get up at the crack of dawn to go ice fishing with this guy Matt, we thought only true love could make her do that.”
After meeting at the University of Illinois, Matt + Emily became good friends. Eventually friendship turned to romance and 10 years later, romance turned to marriage.
Emily and her bride crew got ready at the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile. The champagne was definitely flowing as her bridesmaids got into their sparkly sequin dresses.
Because Emily + Matt wanted a traditional first look, they didn’t see each other until Emily walked down the aisle with her Dad. The look on Matt’s face when he saw his bride was definitely a good pay off!
During the ceremony, Emily’s good friend recited a poem she wrote. Written from their dog’s perspective, it was funny and sweet.
“Run, romp and play daily. Be loyal. When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle them gently. And above all, love each other unconditionally.”
Because Emily + Matt had gifted her mom piano lessons, she had a sweet surprise worked up for them. Emily’s mom had been secretly working on a piano song with the woman who sang at her own wedding. The two of them did a duet together. “It’s every mother’s dream, to have a little girl…” Not a dry eye in the house!
