Indian wedding lakes at lacey

Kristin and Vibhesh didn’t just plan their Indian wedding Lakes at Lacey, they lived out every little detail. Wanting to make their wedding outfits authentically spectacular, they traveled to India. They wanted to experience his culture and find the most gorgeous fashion and accessories. The trip was definitely worth it because they looked like they stepped out of an Indian fashion magazine.

While finishing his residency, Vibhesh moved in with his in-laws. It’s a brave move to live with your soon to be in-laws, but also a way to really get to know each other. The love and affection shared between the families was felt throughout the day. And the kind of closeness that people get only when they live together and really form a solid bond. It was truly lovely that their families had affection for each other at the Lakes at Lacey, their wedding venue.

The day began with the lively energy of a baraat, the traditional Indian wedding groom’s procession. Friends and family danced alongside the groom as dhol drums echoed through the trees, announcing his arrival in vibrant style.

Wearing a custom red dress, the bride made her entrance at their Indian wedding Lakes at Lacey. The stunning dress was rich with intricate embroidery and sparkling details. The red lehenga symbolized prosperity and passion—its elegance a striking contrast to the verdant natural setting.

After the ceremony, the bride changed into a white Indian dress. This second look was perfect for wedding portraits at the Morton Arboretum among the lush, tree-lined gardens. The pink hues of the bridesmaid’s dresses were the perfect accent to the deep greenery at Lakes at Lacey where this Indian wedding took place.

As day turned to evening, guests were welcomed to a reception that was as much a cultural feast as it was a party. Indian and Greek cuisine were served side-by-side, representing the couple’s blended backgrounds and shared love for flavorful, family-rooted dishes. Think samosas alongside spanakopita, paneer tikka next to lamb souvlaki—a menu that sparked conversation and brought people together.

The celebration continued with traditional Indian dances, colorful saris spinning across the dance floor, and joyful movement that invited everyone to take part. Every detail of the night reflected the couple’s thoughtfulness and cultural pride, from the music to the décor to the way guests felt included and uplifted during their Indian wedding celebration at Lacey.
